Boredom does bad/fun things to you xD

Ok guys so I was really bored last 2 weeks of summer holiday so I decided to make something which most people think is really bad
x)

I made last 2 weeks of my holiday a sword (yep xD) because I was really bored and we still had wood in the garrage...
though I am still working on it, here are some of the latest pics ;D



right now I sawed everything out of the wood and painted the guard... now I gotta sand the sword -.- thats a LOT of hard work with your hands and with machines it will only look ruined xD

I am planning to finish the sword piece this weekend and have everything sanded, then through the whole week I will start painting and putting everything together for good x) please comment xD I dont really care the bad comments but it was fun project to do ;D maybe I will make another one so I have a set of em we'll see x)

just so you know everything of this one will be as real as an original katana. (at least... it's a try!)
I will make a 100% hinamori grip knot, make all the parts look as good as it can get and even a sheath will be there with a sageo knot xD

aight, costs some time but cheaper then a real katana although not so much dmg as a real katana if you hit someone gj

lol, it is hard labour. harder than exchanging some money
+ it is really boring... especially if you have the knots in the wood... they take an hour to sharpen there -.-

everything would be done in less than 3 days though if I could use electrical machines, but I rather spend my money for more usefull stuff

lol, well have been ill for a week now, so couldnt do anything and probably cant coming 4/5 weeks cuz of moving, school, me choking to death because I cough out my brains cuz of dam bronchitis T_T

Ok, finally an update!!! though its not that much but I only have quarter of the blade left to sand >.> Then only left is the handle in tip top shape, which isnt that much work really, just the glue and wood filler has to dry then for 24 h

so tomorrow maybe last sanding after homework is done and then it is finished ^^ except for painting of course xD but I need better weather if I wanna do that in the weekend :S
So hopefully next weekend better weather!

anyone knows where to buy carmelain (dark reddish) coloured shoe laces which are at least 110cm long and 1 cm wide? xD can't find any shop in Bunnik which has those :S

sanding is now done! (aside from some half mm work on some spots)
So now pray for nice weather next week so I can paint it and start with the scabbard
(or maybe tomorrow already with the scabbard )

I did it more because I like red and I read somewhere that a red snowdrop somehow meant hope xD I like hope, so I chose red because of that

even gonna *frees* a snowdrop in the sword sometimes...

it is broken T_T stupid movers ruined the box which it was in :S

gonna try again this summer, with more experience, so I will have less cracks etc... Any ideas for design? or just plain Katana with huge tsuba?
